August 2017 – Clothing Bank

Location: Newark Clothing Bank
How many students participated: 11
Brief descriptions: Students spent a day volunteering at the Newark Clothing Bank.  They assisted with sorting incoming clothes and organizing for distribution based on gender, size and age.  The experience helped students understand the local need for basic clothing even among people who are making minimum wage and helped reiterate how vulnerable populations are more at risk for health disparities.
