Nemours Urgent Care Center at Glen Mills is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant with experience in Pediatric UC or Pediatric Emergency Medicine. This candidate would be scheduled for 30 hours per week.

Job Description:

The PA will be performing direct patient care under the supervision of Nemours Pediatric UC physicians. The physician assistant must be able to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary team. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to history and physical examination, performance and interpretation of diagnostic testing, performance of therapeutic interventions and procedures, determination of patient disposition and subspecialty consultation as needed. The physician assistant will collaborate with the physicians in patient care or work under general supervision on case by case basis. The Physician Assistant will have demonstrated procedural competence in Basic Life Support (PALS certification), wound management, splinting of common orthopedic injuries and foreign body removal.

Qualifications:

-Graduate from a physician assistant program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) of the American Medical Association
-Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
-Valid and Unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Pennsylvania (and, other state in which Physician Assistant provides patient care services for Nemours mainly the State of Delaware)
-Two or more years of Pediatric Urgent care or Pediatric Emergency Medicine Experience is highly desirable.
-Letter of support from Supervising Physician attesting to overall competency in Pediatric UC and in performing procedures noted above.
-American Heart Association BLS and PALS Certification

Nemours is seeking an APN/ PA to join our Inpatient Cardiac Center team in Wilmington, DE

Primary Function:
This individual will work collaboratively with physicians, consultants, nurses and other health care practitioners, dedicating his/her specialized practice to patients in the CICU, inpatient floor and, occasionally, in the cardiac outpatient clinic. Our patient population ranges from newborns to young adults with congenital or acquired heart disease. We perform all of the complex cardiac repairs, including heart transplants, utilizing the full range of technical modalities such as ECMO/ECLS, Ventricular Assist Devices including the Berlin Heart, Thoratec, and implantable Heart ware models. We also provide nitric oxide and continuous renal replacement when indicated.

Essential Responsibilities:
Obtain medical history, perform physical exam, order and interpret laboratory data on all patients being admitted to the Nemours Cardiac Center. Assist the physician staff of the Nemours Cardiac Center to provide inpatient and outpatient care services. Assist the Cardiac Staff in the preoperative preparation and postoperative care of surgical patients. Coordinate ongoing overall patient care with physician staff, other nurse practitioners and physician assistants, nursing staff and other ancillary care providers to ensure treatment plans are implemented. Interact with families of the patients on the cardiac service, embracing our family centered focus. Write a daily progress note on inpatients, collate inpatient records and perform discharge summaries, utilizing the electronic medical record. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives. Attend departmental patient care conferences.

Position Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience: Master’s Degree 5 years related clinical experience. Licensure, Registrations or certificates: registered nurse in the state of Delaware Must have or be eligible for Advanced Practice Nurse License in the State of Delaware with prescriptive authority or Physician Assistant in the State of Delaware with prescriptive authority

The Nemours Cardiac Center (NCC) provides comprehensive care for infants, children, and adolescents with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular disease. Primary Function:
This individual will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care providers, dedicating his/her specialized practice to cardiac patients on our inpatient floor. Our patient population ranges from the newborn to young adults with congenital or acquired heart disease. Our surgeons perform all of the complex cardiac repairs, including heart transplantation and utilize all forms of mechanical support (VAD’s, ECMO, ECLS). In addition, we have an active heart failure and pulmonary hypertension service.

This position will include working some night, weekend and holiday shifts. After completion of an individualized orientation and skills and experience develop, supporting the CICU NP/PA will be occasionally expected.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, order and interpret laboratory data on patients admitted to our inpatient unit.
• Write daily progress notes, collate inpatient records, and perform discharge summaries using the electronic medical record.
• Assist in the preoperative and postoperative care of surgical patients.
• Provide continuity of care when coordinating care with other members of the health care team.
• Attend departmental patient care conferences and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Interact with families of our patients, embracing a family centered focus.

Position Qualifications:
• Education- Graduate from an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program or from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
• Licensure -Nurse Practitioners should be a registered nurse with an Advanced Practice license in the state of Delaware with prescriptive authority. Physician Assistants should have unrestricted license with prescriptive authority from the State of Delaware
• Work experience- Greater than 2 years clinical experience is preferred
